Redhawks Host Western Illinois for a Three-Game Weekend Series 
Southeast Missouri (7-12) will host Summit League-member Western Illinois (3-13) for a three-game weekend series at Capaha Field, March 17-19. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m., CT. on Friday, 2 p.m., CT. on Saturday, and 1 p.m., CT. on Sunday.

Series History
This will be the 10th all-time meeting between the Redhawks and the Leathernecks. The last time these two teams met was at Capaha for a three game series in 2019, February 22-24. The Redhawks lost the series 1-2, losing the last game 2-5. During the series there were 34 total runs on 50 hits and five total home runs.

SEMO is currently holding a 7-2 series record over Western Illinois. 
 
Last Time Out
The Redhawks dropped the midweek series with Missouri State this past Tuesday and Wednesday. SEMO fell on Tuesday afternoon 11-1 in Springfield, Mo. After the Bears used a six run, eighth inning to pull away from the Redhawks. 
 
Wednesday afternoon, the Redhawks got on the board first with a RBI single from Lincoln Andrews that put the Redhawks up 1-0 in the first inning. MSU would use a three run fourth inning, and a four run fifth inning to take game two by a final score of 7-3.  

Redhawks Sweep Butler Last Weekend
Southeast Missouri swept Big East-member Butler last weekend, March 10-12 as  the Redhawks offense exploded for 17 runs over the three games, including four home runs. 
 
Three of the four came in Saturday's contest as the Redhawks used a three-homerun fourth inning to power past the Bulldogs. Outfielder Jevon Mason and infielder Peyton Leeper registered their first home runs of the season in the 7-2 victory Saturday. 
 
Lincoln Andrews delivered his 14th and 15th RBI of the season in Sunday's contest to complete the series-sweep by a final score of 2-1. LHP Haden Dow (1-1) recorded a career-high in strikeouts (10) and innings pitched (7.2) to secure his first victory of the season. 
 
Cameron On Top
Josh Cameron continues to pace the Redhawks offense with a .329 batting average through the season's first 19 games. 
 
Cameron is leading the team in slugging percentage (.548), hits (24), second in RBIs (13), and first in triples (2). Cameron is also the team leader in total bases with 40. 
 
Getting On Base
Lincoln Andrews is currently on a 14-game on-base streak to lead the Redhawks. Andrews' streak began back on February 25 against Abilene Christian. 
 
Redhawks Capture Home Opening Series Win Over Milwaukee 
Southeast Missouri took games two and three from the Milwaukee Panthers over the weekend to win the opening weekend series at Capaha Park by a two-game to one tally as the Redhawks improved to 4-8 on the season. 
 
The Redhawks struggled in Game One of Saturday's double header (Friday game moved due to weather) as designated hitter Carlos Aranda hit his third home run of the season to give SEMO it's only run of the contest. Southeast Missouri dropped game one by a final score of 3-1. 
 
The Redhawks offense came alive in the final two games of the series, totaling 26 hits over the two games (12, 14) to win Saturday's game two, 6-5, and Sunday's rubber match, 13-7. 
 
What to know about Western
Western Illinois comes to Capaha Field to play the Redhawks with a 3-13 record. 
 
The Leathernecks just finished a three game series on the 12th against Belmont going 2-1, losing the last game 3-4. During the series they totaled 14 runs while only giving up 11. Their only other win came way back on February 18th, with a 5-2 win over Southern Indiana. 
 
The Leathernecks are led offensively by outfielder Nick Mitchell, a sophomore from Carmel, Ind. Mitchell currently leads Western Illinois in every major batting statistic, with a batting average of (.450). He is first in slugging percentage (.850), first in runs scored (16), and first in hits (27). Mitchell also leads the team in RBIs with 16.
 
Infielder Jake Allgeyer is also an offensive weapon for the Leathernecks. He is second on the team in RBI's (13), second for hits (21) and third for runs scored (7). The junior from Colorado also has an average of .362, an SLG of .586 and an on base percentage of .448.
 
Looking Ahead. 
The Redhawks head to Fayetteville, Ark. next Tuesday, March 21st for a midweek game against Arkansas. First Pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m., CT. on Tuesday at Baum-Walker Stadium at George Cole Field.
